Kannada Koota Luxembourg Celebrates ’Kannadothsava 2023’ with Cultural Extravaganza

Over 200 People Gather to Celebrate Karnataka’s Culture in the tiny European country at Kannadothsava 2023

Bengaluru, Karnataka – The Kannada Koota Luxembourg (KKL), a vibrant community organization dedicated to promoting Kannada culture in Luxembourg, successfully hosted ’Kannadothsava 2023’, at Beggen cultural center in Luxembourg. The event marked a significant milestone in KKL’s journey, fostering a deeper connection between Kannadigas residing in Luxembourg.

Despite the country’s modest size, comparable to the Bangalore Urban district, and a population of about 6 lakh, Luxembourg boasts a rich, ethnically diverse demography. Among this multicultural tapestry, Indians, and particularly Kannadigas, have established a significant presence, with over 100 families making Luxembourg their home. Founded in late 2022, KKL has been instrumental in uniting the Kannadiga community through various cultural events, workshops, and festivities.

Kannadothsava 2023, the second Karnataka Rajyothsava organized by KKL, saw an overwhelming response, exceeding the expected footfall of 120, with over 210 registrations.Notably the event saw participation from members of the larger Indian diaspora alongside a few Europeans too. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the "Hachchevu Kannada Deepa," followed by the Naadageethe, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka.

The event was graced by distinguished guests Mrs. Vanajakshi Jagadeesh and Dr. Puneet Jubba Honnaiah, who were honored by KKL for their contribution to the community. The compères for the day, Ms. Sharanya and Mr. Pramod Eshwara, led the event with grace and enthusiasm.

A diverse array of cultural programs unfolded, showcasing talents in classical and movie song singing, dances, and orchestra performances. Notably, about 50% of these performances were by children, reflecting the thriving future of Kannada culture among the younger generation. The "Adarsha Dampathi" contest witnessed spirited and engaging competition among five lucky couples vying for the coveted title.

A special highlight was the performance by a fellow Kannadiga, Mr. Achal Murthy and the Luxembourg-based band ’Ahmed Radwan & Les Hirondelles’. The event also featured multiple food stalls, adding a gastronomic delight to the cultural feast.

Bhavani Shankar M. R, President of KKL and a faculty member at the University of Luxembourg, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the event: "KKL is committed to strengthening the bond between Kannadigas in Luxembourg and Karnataka. Kannadothsava 2023 not only showcased the latent talent among our community but also fostered a sense of unity and warmth, essential for us to thrive in a multicultural environment. The event was a testament to our culture’s vibrancy and the enthusiasm of Kannadigas in preserving it."

The Event was conducted under the leadership of the board members which includes Sandhya Suresh, Puneetha Reddy, Karthik Ramamurthy, Narasimha Hebbar, Manjunath Prasad, Niranjan Vishwamurthy , Hithesh Chidgal, Prashant Alavandi, Ramesh Panduranga and other volunteers who worked hard to make this event a big success.

Events like ‘Kannadothsava 2023’ not just help in uniting the Kannada Community, but also provides an excellent opportunity for networking and cultural exchange, attracting many non-Kannadigas and local citizens, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event

ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟದಿಂದ ಅದ್ಧೂರಿ`ಕನ್ನಡೋತ್ಸವ-2023

ಯುರೋಪ್ ಖಂಡದ ಈ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರುನಾಡು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಅನಾವರಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ

ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕಂಪನ್ನು ಪಸರಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಪ್ರವೃತ್ತವಾಗಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟ ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ (ಕೆಕೆಎಲ್) `ಕನ್ನಡೋತ್ಸವ -2023’ಯನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿದೆ. ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ನ ಬೆಗ್ಗೆನ್ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಪತಾಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾರಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದೆಡೆ ಸೇರಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಸಡಗರದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡದಿರುವ ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 6 ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಇದೆ. ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಬಹುಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹವಾದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಸರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ 100 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ವಾಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, 2022 ರ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟ ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು, ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದೆ.

ಕೆಕೆಎಲ್ ಕನ್ನಡೋತ್ಸವ 2023 ಎರಡನೇ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ 120 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮನಸುಗಳು ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು. ಇದರ ವಿಶೇಷವೆಂದರೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವು ಯೂರೋಪಿಯನ್ನರೂ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಚ್ಚೇವು ಕನ್ನಡದ ದೀಪ ಹಾಡಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ದೀಪ ಬೆಳಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ನಾಡಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಕನ್ನಡಿಗ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಆದ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವನಜಾಕ್ಷಿ ಜಗದೀಶ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡಾ.ಪುನೀತ್ ಜುಬ್ಬ ಹೊನ್ನಯ್ಯ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಶರಣ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮೋದ್ ಈಶ್ವರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ನಿರೂಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತ, ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಹಾಡುಗಳ ಗಾಯನ, ನೃತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಆರ್ಕೆಸ್ಟ್ರಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವಿಶೇಷವೆಂದರೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಅರ್ಧದಷ್ಟು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸಿದರು. ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ, ಆದರ್ಶ ದಂಪತಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು. ಈ ಪೈಕಿ 5 ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಜೋಡಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಯೆಂದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಾದ ಅಚಲ್ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ಮೂಲದ ಬ್ಯಾಂಡ್ `ಅಹ್ಮದ್ ರಾದ್ವಾನ್ & ಲೆಸ್ ಹಿರೋಂಡೆಲ್ಸ್’ ನ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ವಿವಿಧ ಖಾದ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ತಿಂಡಿ ಪ್ರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಆಹ್ಲಾದವನ್ನು ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡಿತು.


ಕೆಕೆಎಲ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಭವಾನಿ ಶಂಕರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
``ಲಕ್ಸಂಬರ್ಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ನಡುವಿನ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯ ಬಲವರ್ಧನೆಗೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಾಂದಿ ಹಾಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಕನ್ನಡೋತ್ಸವ 2023 ಕೇವಲ ನಮ್ಮ ನಡುವಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅನಾವರಣ ಮಾಡಲಷ್ಟೇ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದೆ’’ ಎಂದರು.

ಸಂಧ್ಯಾ ಸುರೇಶ್, ಪುನೀತಾ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ, ಕಾರ್ತೀಕ್ ರಾಮಮೂರ್ತಿ, ನರಸಿಂಹ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾರ್, ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್, ನಿರಂಜನ್ ವಿಶ್ವಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಹಿತೇಶ್ ಚಿಡ್ಗಲ್, ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ್ ಅಳವಂಡಿ, ರಮೇಶ್ ಪಾಂಡುರಂಗ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರ ಶ್ರಮದ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಲು ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಕನ್ನಡೋತ್ಸವ 2023 ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡೇತರರು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಬೆಳೆಸುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ವಿನಿಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು.
