Udupi, November 28 : The people of Udupi district are peace loving, disciplined. Chairman of the State Minorities Commission Abdul Azim said that the accused who brutally killed four people in such a district should be punished.
He visited Noor Mohammad’s house in Nejar, Udupi today, condoled with the family and later spoke to reporters.
The incident in Udupi city where four members of the same family were brutally killed by an assailant which took place about a fortnight ago has shocked the entire district and the people of the district. He said that he had consulted with Noor Mohammad and his brother who remained in the family and gathered information about the incident, he said.
Since the day of the incident, we have been in constant contact with the police department and have received complete information about the incident. The places where 4 people were killed have been inspected. The accused has prepared in every way to come and kill. The anger and hatred of the accused can be calculated from the injuries when it is observed that Einaz was stabbed 10-15 times on the body. Generally, when a murder is committed, a case under IPC Section 302 is registered, and if the case is proved, Section 302 will be sentenced to 14 years of life imprisonment. He said that this is a rare case and the punishment will be given based on the police investigation, he said.
He said that the occurrence of these killings is a lifelong pain for him and his relatives. A recommendation will be made to the Chief Minister and Home Minister by the commission. The supervision of the case should be supervised by the IGP, West Zone of this area. He said that the investigation should be completed within a year and the charge-sheet should be submitted before the special court.
He prayed for the souls to find peace. Hindus did not even celebrate Diwali on the day of the murder. We all belong to one species which is human species. He said that the people of the district are united and standing with this family. We want a peaceful society and live a harmonious life. Udupi is a peaceful district. He said that action should be taken so that such incidents do not recur.
Justice should be served. People are asking the police that the accused of murder should be hanged. May God give them the strength to bear the pain of the incident, he said, adding that the lives lost are the property of the government. He said that his son Asad Mohammad, who is working in Indigo along with conducting the case, has completed the BBM, and a request will be submitted to the Chief Minister and Home Minister for direct recruitment in the police department on compassionate grounds.
