Bengaluru: The Governor’s speech to the joint session of the State Legislature is very insightful. Women and Child Welfare Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar said that it is a reflection of the government’s achievements.
Five guarantee schemes of the state government were major highlights of the speech. The guarantee schemes of Shakti, Anna Bhagya, Griha Jyoti, Griha Lakshmi and Yuva Nidhi have been implemented very successfully and adequately. Panch Guarantee Schemes have given comfort to the people who have been suffering due to increasing economic inequality. Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar said that the huge number of applications received for these projects is proof.
As far as my department is concerned, a grant of Rs 17500 crore has been allocated for Griha Lakshmi Yojana so far. 11037 crores have been transferred through DBT till January to 1.17 crore women beneficiaries registered under this scheme. The minister said that the financial status of women in the state has improved with such a scheme.
Guarantee schemes have given a new boost to people’s economy. After we came to power, 77 thousand crores of capital has flown out. Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar said that what else is needed is a big achievement. Siddaramaiah is leading the state on the path of development by providing funds for guarantee projects even in drought conditions and giving grants for development projects. The minister said that the governor has very cleverly tied all these in his speech.
