Udupi, March 4: The Social Educational Census report which surveyed the 5.98 crore population of the state has been submitted to the state government. I am ready to discuss this report. The cabinet will take a decision on this. K. Jaya Prakash Hegde, the immediate past president of the Karnataka Backward Classes Commission, said that the information of this report cannot be disclosed without the government’s consent.

He spoke on behalf of the Udupi District Working Journalists Association in collaboration with the Udupi Press Bhavan Committee at the media conference held at the Udupi Press Bhavan on Monday.

While there are more than 1300 castes in the state, the names of only 10 castes are circulating on social media. After the government has officially decided on this report, there will be a discussion on this issue. It cannot be accepted as official data without release by the government. He said, "I request that discussion on social media should be stopped".

I am not a member of any party at present. I cannot be a member of any party while in the commission. I will discuss the next decision with the family members. He said that he will discuss the future politics with his friends and relatives and take a decision.

No one has been contacted officially by BJP. Some friends of BJP are calling and talking. I will first discuss whether to contest the election or not. From which party will be discussed later. He said that he will decide within a week whether to contest the election or not.
