Udupi: State Congress spokesperson Sudhir Kumar Muroli has opined that the Electoral Bond revealed in the Supreme Court’s order is the biggest corruption in the history of the country.

Sudhir Kumar, who arrived to participate in the Congress consultation meeting held at the District Congress Bhavan in Brahmagiri regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, said this while talking to media reporters on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court has taken a bold step in the bond issue and has revealed the truth before the people of the country. Sudhir Kumar, who was also a aspirant from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, said that I congratulate the Supreme Court for this.

He said that it has been clearly revealed from the information so far that CBI, ED, IT have attacked various companies and institutions of the country by threatening them and obtaining bonds worth thousands of crores of rupees from those institutions.

Sudhir Kumar quipped that this is what it means to uplift the shelter of democracy and said that according to famous lawyers Prashant Bhushan and Kapil Sibal who are arguing in the Supreme Court in this matter, the Bharatiya Janata Party has received 90% of the donation in the 2018-19 election bond which has not been revealed so far.

He expressed confidence that if all the information sought by the SBI is given tomorrow as per the deadline already given by the Supreme Court, more faces, ideas, information, information of corruption will be exposed.

Sudhir Kumar explained that the central government led by Narendra Modi, when Arun Jaitley was the finance minister, presented the Finance Bill-2017 in the Parliament, brought many amendments in the donation act, which had been transparent until then, and ushered in the biggest corruption in such a country.

Muroli said that this corruption came out through the Supreme Court due to the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Association for Democracy Reforms and CPM in the Supreme Court. He said that out of the 30 major companies in the country that bought the bonds, 14 companies were attacked by the ED, IT or CBI before the bond was bought.

The company bought election bonds through Pakistan and donated to the BJP party. Also, it has been proved that the party received donations from the company which caused the death of 41 workers in the recent tunnel collapse disaster. Chennai’s Lottery King Martin, which showed a profit of Rs 220 crore, also contributed thousands of crores to the BJP. He explained that the donation was also a proof of his corruption.

I am also an aspirant for Congress ticket in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency. I will remain aspirant until the name of the party candidate is announced. Once the name of the party candidate is announced, I will work for the party candidate. Sudhir Kumar Muroli, a famous lawyer from Koppa clarified to a question that all this happens as a part of internal democracy of the party.

There is no dispute that I am also an aspirant for ticket. I can ask for a chance till the last step in a democratic system. It is also the right of all aspirants. But after announcing the party candidate, I will work honestly for that candidate, he said.

Speaking about BJP’s candidate Kota Srinivasa Pujari’s contest, Muroli said that, a senior leader of the Kota party. He has Cabinet-level status and responsibility as the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council. He said that it is his constitutional responsibility to work for the people.

But BJP has given tickets to those who did not ask for them. Kota Srinivas Pujari was given a ticket instead of Pramod Madhwaraj, CT Ravi, Udayakumar Shetty or Haladi Srinivasa Shetty of Kundapur who asked for a ticket. Kota said I didn’t ask for the ticket. He got this opportunity because of confusion within BJP. But even if he loses, he has a constitutional post. Let him manage that opportunity.
