Kallianpur : Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (Regd), organised convention, Scholarship distribution and felicitation for Udupi Diocese Bishop here at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall on Sunday, 25th November, 2012.
During the grand occasion Nigel Periera President of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh was presided. Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of the Milagres Cathedral, Dr. Gerald Pinto and Alphonse D’Costa former Presidents, Rev Fr. Dr. Allwyn Serrao Resource person from Shivmuga Diocese, Jerry Vincent Dias Enterpreneur and officials of the Catholic Sabha Central committee and others were present on the dais.
The occasion started with an invocation. Nigel Periera welcomed the gatherings. Elroy Kiran Crasto the appointed President of Catholic Sabha for the coming year was inaugurated the convention.During his inaugural address he pointed out that the service of the christian community is within the fold of the church.Surely the catholic sabha reached every common man.In government offices our community not done proper place because may be of several reasons.Our community should enter in the politics and take positions in government offices. We need to bring awareness in the people so that our people get the benefits from the Government projects which are specially reserved for the minority community.
Earlier Sanjay Andrede Secretary CS Udupi Pranth placed introduction of the guests of honour. Walter Cyril Pinto  presented situation of the Catholic Sabha briefly.Various scholarship’s were distributed to 27 students during the occasion. Jerry Vincent Dias inaugurated "Shashaktha Samudaya Seva Trust (Regd), Udupi. One of the donour for the trust Rocky D’Silva of Mukamar Parish honoured during the occasion. After the inauguration Jerry Vincent Dias spoke during the occasion.
The instalation programme of the Udupi Diocese was released by Bishop Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo.Prior to the inauguration of the Trust, Rev Dr. Allywn Serrao gave special talk on relation of laity and Catholic Church as per the Cannon Law.
On behalf of the Catholic Sabha Bishop of Udupi felicitated during the occasion by former Presidents of Cathoiklc Sabha.Duirng the occasion Bishop said that he have vast relation with Catholic Sabha long ago. He started catholic sabha units in two parishes while during Mangalore Diocese.The work done by the Catholic Sabha is commendable and one of the strong laity organisation not only in twin dioceses but also in whole country as well. Catholic Sabha members should take responsibilities to strengthen our community by way of sacrifice and unity.
Flavia D’Souza Secretary of Catholic Sabha proposed vote of thanks. Charles Quadros and Elseo D’Souza compered the programme.
After the convention high mass was celebrated at Milagres Cathedral led by Bishop along with Rev Fr. J. B. Crasta Spritual Director of Catholic Sabha. Rev Fr. J. B. Crasta during his homily pointed out regarding Jesus always King of humanity. Jesus is the King of Heaven and Earth.

Large number of members of the Catholic Sabha both from twin Dioceses were present for the convention as well as for the mass. Members from Kasargod Varado, Puttur, Bantwal, Belthalgady and Udupi diocese were present in large numbers will be appreciated by Catholic Sabha.
