Print Kemmannu Jan15:St. Theresa Church, Kemmannu celebrated the Vespers eve on 15th January. The Cheryl, the image of the saint Theresa was blessed at the Kemmannu Bridge Following the brief service and brought to the church in a colorful disciplined procession with candle, which passed through the Kemmannu Street. Shopkeepers and residents of the houses beside the roads lit candles and decorated the path in respect of the saint theresa.
At the church, on vespers evening After readings from the Holy Scriptures and Gospel, Fr. Sunil D’silva, parish priest of Petri delivered led the adoration of the sacred sacrament and delivered a powerful sermon(homily) on word of god, the Gospel was followed by the adoration and Sacramental Blessing.
Rev. Fr. Stany Lobo, Dean of Kallanipura Deanery, and priests from Kallainpura Deaners as well as neighbouring parishes and those priests hailing from Kemmannu and serving in other place of India were present for the Vespers.
The services associated with the Vespers ended by 8 pm. As the people came out of the church they were greeted with fire-works sponsored by Pirgents”of this year’s Mr. and Mrs. Edwin & Elias Saldanha.People were seen visiting the Shrine of St. Theresa and offering candles. Groups of families were seen exchanging greetings for feast with friends and relatives.

Greeting to all the organiser, as both day’s festival ceremonies were very well organised. The procession was very well attended and every one exhibited the utmost high level of devotion. One announcement touched my heart was, the decoration dun by the tempo owners and autorikshaw drivers of Kemmannu. This is called the true spirit of universal brotherhood and community living. Guys, You are the real heros of Kemmannu. God Bless you all.
