Udupi, May 9, 2013 : St. Theresa Church, Kemmannu is all set to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of the Church. The two days programme is scheduled to  be held at the church on May 11 and 12. An All Religious Meet “Sarva Dharma Sauharda Koota” will be held on Saturday May 11 and the concluding closing ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 12.

Rev Fr. Anil Prakash D’Silva, Chairman of the Platinum Jubilee Committee annouced this at the press meet held on today, Thursday, 9^th May. He informed the media that the inaugural ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee was held on May 20 last year and declared inaugurated by Very Rev Fr. Baptist Menezes, then Episcopal Vicar of Udupi at that time. Several religious and social activities and programmes were organised during the year. 

With the intention of sharing the joy of the celebration with the people of all communities, an All Religious meet is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 11. The programme will be inaugurated by Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Dean of Kalianpur Deanery and presided over by Rev Fr. Anil P. D’Silva.

During the event main speakers are Dr. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alvas’s Educational Institutions, Moodubidri, Mr. Mohammed Kunhi Mananger of Shanti Prakashana, Mangalore and Rev Fr. Clifford Fernandes Spritual Director St. Joseph’s Seminary Jeppu, Mangalore. Chief guest of the occasion include Mr. Jayaprakash Hegde, M.P. Udupi Chickmaglure Constituency, Mr. Pramod Madwaraj newly elected MLA of Udupi, Mrs. Mallika Ashok, member of Zilla Panchayat, Satish Nejar President of Kallianpur Panchayat, Mr. Nityananda Kemmannu, President of Paduthonse Panchayat, Mrs Jayanthi Suvarna and Mr. Rhahamathulla Thonse both Taluk Panchayat members.

The concluding closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee will be held on Sunday 12^th May presided over by Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese. The newly built Parochial House will be inaugurated by Most  Rev Dr. Oswald Lewis, Bishop of Jaipur Diocese and the Concelebrated thanksgiving Eucharist mass will be celebrated by the Udupi Bishop. The stage programme which will be held after the mass and which presided over the Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo and chief guest on the occasion include Bishop of Jaipur Dr. Oswald Lewis, Rev Dr. Baptist Menezes Vicar General of Udupi Diocese, Mr Oscar Fernandes MP and other dignitories.

“Voikila Yogabodu”  Tulu drama will be played on Saturday evening at Church campus. During the press meet along with Rev Fr. Anil P. D’Silva, Alfred Crasta Sponsor of the grand celebration, Ronald Menezes Vice President of Parish Pastoral Parished, Veronica Cornelio, Thomas D’Souza and Arun  Committee members of the Jubilee celebrations were present. Earlier Veronica Cornelio welcomed the occasion and Thomas D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Large number of press representatives were present during the press meet.

ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ಅಮೃತಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ವರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಅಂದಿನ ಎಪಿಸ್ಕೋಪಲ್ ವಿಕಾರ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ವಂ.ಡಾ.ಬ್ಯಾಪ್ಟಿಸ್ಟ್ ಮಿನೇಜಸ್ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅಮೃತ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ವಧರ್ಮ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನವನ್ನು ಮೇ 11ರಂದು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10:30ಕ್ಕೆ ಚರ್ಚ್ ವಠಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಪುರ ವಲಯದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಧರ್ಮಗುರು ವಂ.ಸ್ಟಾನಿ ಬಿ.ಲೋಬೊ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಿದ್ದು, ಅಮೃತಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ವಂ. ಅನಿಲ್ ಪಿ.ಡಿಸಿಲ್ವ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸುವರು. ಅಮೃತ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ಮೇ 12ರಂದು ಅಪರಾಹ್ನ 3:30ಕ್ಕೆ ಉಡುಪಿ ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಅ.ವಂ.ಡಾ.ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐಸಾಕ್ ಲೋಬೊ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.

ಸಂಜೆ 5:30ಕ್ಕೆ ಅಮೃತಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದು, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಿ ಬಿಷಪ್ ಅ.ವಂ.ಡಾ.ಜೆರಾಲ್ಡ್ ಐಸಾಕ್ ಲೋಬೊ ವಹಿಸಲಿರುವರು ಎಂದವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚ್‌ನ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ರೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಮಿನೇಜಸ್, ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕ ಆಲ್ಪ್ರಡ್ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತಾ, ಅಮೃತ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಥಾಮಸ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ, ಅರುಣ್ ಫೆರ್ನಾಂಡಿಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ವೆರೊನಿಕಾ ಕರ್ನೇಲಿಯೊ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
