Udupi, May 10, 2013: St. Theresa Church, Kemmannu is all set to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of the Church. The 2 days programme is scheduled to be held at the church on May 11 and 12. An All Religious Meet ‘Sarva Dharma Sauharda Koota’ will be held on Saturday May 11 and the concluding closing ceremony will be held on May 12 Sunday.

Fr. Anil P. D’Silva, Chairman of the Platinum Jubilee Committee announced this at the Press meet. He informed the Media that the Inaugural Ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee was held on May 20 last year and declared inaugurated by Very Rev. Fr. Baptist Menezes, Episcopal Vicar of Udupi at that time. Several religious and social activities and programmes were organized during the year.

With the intention of sharing the joy of the celebration with the people of all communities, an All Religious Meet is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 12. The programme will be inaugurated by Very Rev.Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Vicar Vara of Kallianpur Deanery and presided over by Rev. Fr. Anil P. D’Silva.

Main speakers of the event are Dr. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alvas Educational Institutions, Moodabidire, Mr. Mohammed Kunhi, Manager of Shanti Prakashana, Mangalore and Rev. Fr. Cliffered Fernandes, Spiritual Director, St. Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu.

Chief Guest of the function include Mr. Jayaprakash Hegde, M.P. Udupi Chickmangalore Constituency, Mr. Pramod Madwaraj, Newly elected MLA of Udupi constituency, Mrs. Mallika Ashok, Member, Zilla Panchayathh, Mr. Satish Nejar, President, Kallianpur Grama Panchayat, Mr. Nityananda Kemmannu, President, Paduthonse Grama Panchayat, Mrs. Jayanti B. Suvarna and Mr. Rahamathulla Thonse, both Taluk Panchayat members.

The concluding closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee will be held on Sunday 12 May presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi. The newly built Parochial House will be inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr Oswald Lewis, Bishop of Jaipur and the Concelebrated Thanksgiving Eucharist mass will be celebrated by the Udupi Bishop. The Stage Programme which will be held after the mass will be presided over by Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo and chief guest on the occasion include Dr. Oswald Lewis, Jaipur Bishop, Fr. Baptist Menezes, Vicar General of Udupi Diocese, Mr. Oscar Fernandes and other Dignitories.
