Udupi : Billavara Seva Sangha (Reg), Kallianpura  and Mahila Sangha jointly organized “Aatid Onji Dina” at Madhuvana Hotel Sabha Bhavana on Sunday, 27^th July, 2014 with utmost traditional celebration which organizing since four years.

The program was inaugurated by Shyama Poojary an Entrepreneur of Santhekatte along with Harish Poojary Kukkehalli  with lighting the lamp. Shekar Gujjarbettu President of Billavara Sangha Kallianpur, Devdas Suvarna Entrpreneur, Harish Poojary Kukkehalli, Janardhan Thonse, Nithyananda Kemmannu, Paramananda Salian, Dinesh Jathan,Jagadish Kemmannu, Harish Kumar, Jayanth Amin, Sathish, Bhasker Jathan, Aruna Adve, Sunder Poojarthy and others were present on the dais.

During in his keynote address Paramananda Salian Senior Journalist,  pointed out that the need to celebrate like  Aatid Onji Dina in order to keep and alive on our traditional Tulunadu culture. In this modern fast growing society of ours now it is important that to spread our rich tulu tradition to the younger generation.

Nithyananda Kemmannu another chief guest and Janardhan Thonse spoke during the occasion. Prizes were distributed to winners of various tulunadu local games for both gents and ladies.

At least 75 dishes made by the Mahila volunteers were on disply. From the numerious types of chetneys like Thimara, Kudutha, Goonja, Urududa, Boleda, Nungol Ettida chetneys to the incredible types in the usage of jackfruit in roasted, sweet, sour, spicy, a mouth heating selection of gasais, pickles, sambars, to the variety of dishes and sweets to end the meal selection ensured all those who present. The guests were welcomed by the drink of Jeerigedha Kasaya and Pelakaidha gatti. The important most popular dishes like Karpel aritha Mappu, kudutha Saar, Kori sukkha, Appum, Thojank Nurge Soppu, Uppad Achar, Uppad Padeer, Kanchalada Gasi, Pathrade, Mulka Padengedha Vade, Appada Adde, Narvole Thoppude dose, Berade Eridha Gatti, Chilmedha Adde, Kudutha Urunde, Manjodha Eritha Gatti and so on.

Prior to the start of the program after the invocation prayer by ladies, Shekar Gujjarbettu Gurkar of the Billavara Seva Sangha Kallianpura welcomed the gatherings. Jagadish Kemmannu proposed vote of thanks while Santhosh G. compered the program beautifully. Large number of community people were tasted and enjoyed beautiful traditional celebration of “Aatid Onji Dina”.
