Mumbai, Aug 10, 2014: Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival, wherein a sister ties a knot around her brother’s wrist, who pledges to protect her in all circumstances. Bollywood is full of loving siblings who celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan every year with great enthusiasm. While some of the actresses may not have real brothers, they make sure to have a Rakhi brother from the industry. On the occasion of Rakhsha Bandhan on Sunday, most of the celebrities took to micro blogging site twitter to express their enthusiasm about the festival. While some celebrated the festival early, few did it later in the day.

Shah Rukh Khan was one of the earlier ones to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. He has a real sister, but this time around there seemed to be a special Rakhi waiting for him. Shah Rukh Khan was in the city for joy, and he got his first Rakhi tied there. The actor posted on micro blogging site, twitter, “Happy RAKHI to everyone. Mine already started with Mamata Didi tying me mine. Thank you Kolkata & the Police Deptt.”

Priyanka Chopra, was one of the earlier ones to celebrate Rakhi at home. The actress who seemed to have a busy schedule ahead tied a Rakhi to her brother, Sidharth. The duo posed for a picture which she posted on social networking site twitter. Seemed like once the celebration was over, PC was back at her job, as she left for an event of UNICEF India.

Director Farah Khan seemed to have enjoyed the festival of Rakhi the most. The choreographer turned director posted a picture of her triplets, from behind as they celebrated Rakhi. She has one son, Czar Kunder, and two daughters, Diva and Anya. She also posted a picture of the two Rakhis made by her daughters for their loving brother. They redefined the meaning of sibling in a cute way.

Amitabh Bachchan has been busy shooting for the new season of his television reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. Describing the auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan, Amitabh Bachchan had posted on his blog, “The day for the sister to tie that band and thread of protection to the brother and the pledge from him of his love and care ..” And prior to the day of Rakhi celebrations too he was on the sets and he got his first Rakhi tied by Nandi on the sets of KBC in Mumbai.

Bipasha Basu has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The actress is currently making headlines with regards to her last film, Humshakals with a tiff following between her and the director Sajid Khan. However leaving the negativity behind, Bipasha Basu wished everyone Raksha Bandhan on twitter. “Happy Rakhi to all! Blessed with a great bro! Soham! Love ya!” Bipasha Basu doesn’t have a real brother, but has made director Soham Shah her Rakhi bother and every year she ties him a Rakhi.
