Kalmady Church organizes Hore - Kanike procession for Feast of Our Lady of Vailenkani

Print Udupi : Stella Maris Church, Kalmady near here organized Horekanike procession from Adi Udupi to the church on Wednesday, 13th August, 2014 for the preparation of the Annual Feast of Our Lady of Vailenkkani to be held on 15th August.
The colorful Horekanike procession was flagged off by Yuvaraj President of Udupi Muncipal Corporation along with many other councilors from Adi Udupi. Prior to the flagg off, invocation prayer held by Parish Priest Rev Fr. Alban D’Souza with the blessings of the statue of Our Lady of Vailenkkani. During the occasion past Vice President of the church pastoral council Louis Lobo welcomed the gatherings and compered the program.
After the end of procession Most Rev Dr. Francis Serrao Bishop of Shimoga was warmly received by Fr. Alban D’Souza and Parish Pastoral Vice President Flavia Mathias and Secretary Sanjay Andrade along with others at the gate of the church. Holy Adoration of the Eucharist was held after the mass by Rev Fr. Valerian D’Silva Capuchin.
After the Adoration Holy Eucharistic mass which celebrated by Most Rev Dr. Francis Serrao Bishop of Shimoga along with Rev Fr. Alban D’Souza, Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha Parish Priest of Mount Rosary Church Kallianpur, Rev Fr. Fredrick D’Souza Parish Priest of Thottam Church and others guest priests.
During in his homily Bishop outlined the character of Our Lady of Mother Mary. Bishop started the homily with the words of famous composer and singer late Wilfy that regarding the “Mother”. Our Lady of Mother Mary said he what says that you do. What almighty has said that you do. Through Mother Mary God listens our difficulties.
At the end of the mass Rev Fr. Alban D’Souza gave gratitude to Bishop of Shimoga and also to all participants during the procession as well as Holy mass.
The Feast of Our Lady of Vailenkkani will be held on Friday, 15th August which Bishop of Udupi, Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo to be the chief celebrant of Eucharistic mass at 10.30am. The devotees will be provided lunch after the mass on feast day.
