Print Puttur : Parent Teachers Association general body meeting of St. Philomena College Puttur was held on 10th September, 2014 at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.
Fr. Clifford Fernandes, Professor, St. Joseph Inter Diocese Seminary addressing the parents on the topic ‘the role of parents in the all round development of students’ he said, “It is responsibility of the teachers and parents to inculcate with their children patience and human values”. He called upon the parents to raise above the caste, creed and religion and live in the society with togetherness.
Speaking on the occasion Rev. Dr Antony Praksah Monteiro, Campus Director and Chairman of P.G studies said, “There is lot of development in technical education. If students make use of these developments they can fulfill the dreams of their parents.”
Very Rev. Fr Alfred J.Pinto, Correspondent, St. Philomena College said, “The education and the values gained by the students in the college should be imbibed in their future.”
The Principal of the college, Prof.Leo Noronha made the opening remarks. The President of the PTA, Mohammad Badagannur gave an over view of the achievements in the field of education. The Secretary of the PTA, Dr. Vijay Kumar Moleyar read out the annual report. The Treasurer presented the annual statement of income and expenditure. Prof. Maxim Karl, HOD, Commerce and Management conducted the election for the Parent Teachers Association 2014-15.
Dr. Prassanna Rai sang the prayer song. The Joint Secretary of PTA, Prof. Vinaychandra proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. Basthyam Pias, Lecturer, Department of Kannada was the master of the ceremony. Prof. Udaya K. briefed the house about the parent-Teacher-Student interaction.
On the same occasion book exhibition was arranged by the Department of Library and Information Science of the college in association with Jnanaganga Book Depot.
