Udupi : The Centenary celebrations of the Our Lady of Health, Shirva held with thanksgiving Eucharistic mass concelebrated by Most Rev Dr. Aloysious  Paul D’souza,  Bishop of Mangalore Diocese,the main celebrant ,  Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Most Rev Dr. Pius D’Souza Bishop of Ajmer Diocese, Most Rev Dr. Anthony Fernandes Retd. Bishop of Bareily, Most Rev Msgr. Baptist Menezes Episcopal Vicar of Udupi Diocese, Very Rev Fr. Pedro Camilo Simoens Pallotine Provincial, Very Rev Fr. Stany Tauro Parish Priest of Shirva Church, former parish priests, deanery priests, guests priests, parish religious priests and other priests of undivided Mangalore Diocese.

During in his homily Bishop of Udupi Diocese Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo said that Mother Mary women of Holy Eucharist. Jesus Christ appointed 12 disciples to establish the Eucharist. Mother Mary has the relation with Eucharist. She said what he tells that you do to disciples during first miracle of the Jesus.  

After the mass Wilson D’Souza Vice President of Parish Pastoral council expressed gratitude in brief. Rev Fr. Anil Prakash Castalino Asst. Parish Priest made necessary announcements prior and during the mass.

Felicitation program held after the mass for former Parish Priests, Asst. parish priests, Vice Presidents’, Secretaries, benefactors and donours of the church. Meanwhile Bishop of Mangalore Diocese felicitated by Bishop of Udupi diocese. Very Rev Fr. Stany Tauro also felicitated by Bishop with shawl, garland, fresh fruits and memento.

Bishop of Bareily, Pallotine Provincial, Oscar Fernandes and Blossom Fernandes, Rev Fr. Baptist Menezes also honoured during the occasion.

During in his address Bishop Aloysious Paul D’souza expressed gratitude to Bishop Gerald and Fr. Stany Tauro for their invitation for Centenary celebrations. He recalled ancestors for their sacrifice to save and keep the faith with Mother Mary. He appreciated Shirva Parishioners as well as Parish Priest for the grand  successful centenary celebration.

After the felicitations to Bishop Gerald Lobo, he also remembered alma mater of the church since hundred years and their sacrifice for the church. He called present parishioners’ to keep faith which our ancestors gave us should be preserved.

Very Rev Fr. Stany Lobo earlier emotionally welcomed the gatherings on the stage and off the stage. Grinol D’Mello compered the brief program on the stage. Rev Fr. Baptist Menezes conducted prayer on Maha Anna Santarpane during the occasion. Around 14000 people participated for lunch without caste and religion. There were 20 food counters and extra food counters were installed. Heavy security arrangements with school children volunteers guided during the lunch.
