Shirva : The Women’s Association of Shirva Parish had organized Women’s day celebration at Shirva Don Bosco Hall on 22-03-015.The programme was inaugrated by lighting the lamp.

Rev.Fr.Valarian Mendonca the Diocesan Spiritual Director, Fr.Reginald Pinto Director of Sampada Institution presided over the programme. William Pinto Shirthady and  Sharlet Furtado Yermal both advocates were the chief guests.

William Pinto Shirthady in his message invited all Christians to enjoy religious freedom. He also said that Constitution not made for some but for all to have equal rights. He also gave a call to uplift Dalith Christians. Sharlet Furtado voiced out a awakening call for all women in the developing and changing society and requested to be extra careful and to have presence of mind in the present changing scenario.

Fr.Stany Tauro denary level spiritual Director and Parish priest of Shirva Church felicitated Smt.Violet Castelinho the former president of women association at Diocesan level for her service and leadership. In his message he appreciated all women for their support and service and requested to continue their membership . Fr.Reginald Pinto louded the contribution of women’s association. Fr.Valarian Mendonca requested all the women to spend quality of time in their respective families.

The Denary President of Women’s Association Smt. Leena Machado welcomed the gathering and Joint Secretary Flavia D’souza Pernal rendered vote of thanks.Sr.Treza Martis Diocesan Women Association Animator and Shirva Parish council Vice President Wilson D’souza were present for the programme.

The joy of the celebration was witnessed by 450 women including Swasahaya group members from different Parishes of Shirva Denary. There was cultural programme by them.Smt. Flavy D’souza Mudarangadi compered the programme.>
