Udupi : The Annual Day celebrations of Udupi Diocese level Catholic Womens’ Association held at Don Bosco Hall here on Friday, 24^th April,  2015.His Lordship Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese was presided the occasion.

In his address Bishop praised the diocesan women for their role in the community in various issues. He wanted to form strong association with more members in order to develop the life of women and to give leadership training for women. There will be 327 self help groups in the five deaneries of diocese which would be satisfactory development but need more. He called women to take leadership in coming panchayat elections and get the seat in election. He also called to women for the development and growth of Konkani culture and traditions.

Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca Spiritual Director of Diocesan Strhee Sanghaton also spoke during the occasion. Rev Fr. Reginald Pinto Director of SAMPADA, Very Rev Fr. Fredrick Mascarenhas Dean of Udupi Deanery and parish Priest of Udupi Church, Shallet Furtado Resource Person of the occasion, Rev Sr. Treza Martis Convener of Diocesan Women’s Association, Jennifer Menezes President of Diocesan Sthree Sanghaton, Shaila Lewis Secretary were other among present on the dais.

The program started with invocation prayers held by Kundapur Deanery women. The occasion was inaugurated by Bishop with pouring water in to Rose Flower plant. The CD which composed and directed by Fr. Valerian Mendonca in favour of Sthree Sanghaton was released during the occasion.

Sr. Treza Martis also gave her message during the occasion. Shaila Lewis placed the annual report of the Sanghaton.

Earlier Jennifer Menezes welcomed the gatherings and Dorin D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Judith Fernandes and Violet Castalino were compered the program. Various entertainments programs like skit, dance and singing were held after the stage programme. At the end general body meeting also held. Around more than 300 women of the diocese were participated during the celebrations of the annual women’s day.
