Print Udupi : Milagres College Kallianpur Department of Physics and Science Association organized International Year of Light at Milagres College Audio Visual Hall on Wednesday, 1st July, 2015. Dr. Santhosh Chidangil, Director of Centre for Atomic & Molecular Physics, University of Manipal inaugurated the occasion.
Addressing during in his inaugural speech in fact resource person said that everybody knows there is no light then there is no origin life and importance with application of light unlimited. He called the students to be fresh in mind all over rather in smart phones or other but to be fresh in mind to use brain. In fact all technologies need Science. Light is the source of energy.
Dr. Suresh Kulkarni of Manipal University, Manipal was the resource person of the occasion. Dr. Nery Cornelio Principal of the Milagres College presided and addressed the gatherings. Dr. Gerald Pinto Dean of Science department and H.O.D. in Physics, Dr. Surekha Bhat Convener of Science Association, Prof Archana Dabade Convener of the programme, Royston D’Souza President of Science Association and Secretary of Science Association were present on the dais.
The felicitation program for students who secured more than 80% were held during the occasion. Guruprasad read out the names of the students. Meanwhile winners of Collage competition also honoured during the occasion.
Dr. Nery Cornelio gave his presiding address. Dr. Gerald Pinto welcomed the guests and the gatherings. Miss Aqsa proposed vote of thanks. Miss Rasmitha compered the inaugural programme.
After the inauguration, the workshop was held on Light which Dr. Santhosh Chidangil and Dr. Suresh Kulkarni were the resource persons. Large number of Science students’ of the college were participated during the programme.
