Udupi : Billavara Seva Sangha along with Mahila Unit jointly organized “Aatidonji Dina” at Hotel Madhuvana Hotel Hall, Santhekatte Kallianpur on Sunday, 26^th July, 2015.

The beautiful occasion of the day during the month of Aati or Ashada began with the invocation prayer hymn by ladies of the community. Adve Ravindra Poojary Administrative Official of SPU College, Mulki presided the occasion. Shyama P. Poojary Owner of Mohini Towers, C. K. Sadananda Padubidri , Vishwanath Sanil Entrepreneur, Umesh Poojary President of Badanidiyoor Village Panchayat, Srinivas Poojary Kodankoor, Janardhan Thonse President of Udupi Urban Development Authority, Santhosh Kotian, Shekar Poojary Alevoor, Bhaskar Jathan, Shekar Gujjarbettu President, Jagadish Kemmannu Secretary, Aruna R. Adve President of Women’s Unit and usha Vasanth Secretary, Rama Poojary and other among present on the dais.

Shekar Gijjarbettu welcomed the gatherings traditionally prior to brief introduction on the occasion. The dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the occasion with lighting the lamp.

During in his keynote address C. K. Sadananda beautifully gave in fluent Tulu language the importance of the month of Ashadha which is also called Aati in earlier days of our ancestors and pointed out the present situation of the generation specially with the food. He highlighted the tulu culture and tradition in the community.

Vishwanath Sanil, Umesh Poojary and Srinivas Poojary spoke during the occasion and gave their beautiful message. Prizes were distributed to the winners of Aati games. Adve Ravindra Poojary gave his presiding address.

Jagadish Kemmannu proposed vote of thanks and Santhosh G. compered the program in local tulu language. There were plenty of dishes prepared by community women. Some of the important Aati dishes as Timare Chetney, Tevu Padpe, Korida Sukka, Kudutha Chetney, Kanaleda Gasi, Kori Roti, Uppad Pachchir, Kanchala Gasi, Thojank, Appada Adde, Nurge Soppu, Ettida Saar, Tekkarda Talli, Narvol thoppuda Dosa, Nungal Ettida Chetney, Aritha Urunde, Marvahi Sukka, Padhrade, Kudutha Saar, payasha, Pundi, Kodale Gasi, Gunda, Kudutha Urunde, Mulka, Rasam, Pelakahida Gatti etc. etc. Earlier palakayida Gatti with Jeerge kasaya served at the time of arrival to the Hall.

Very large number of Billava community participated community lunch with beautiful prepared dishes on Aatidonji dina celebrations.
