‘#100Women Initiative’ launched by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development in collaboration with Facebook to recognize 100 women achievers across India.

The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) in collaboration with Facebook has launched the ‘#100Women Initiative’ that aims to recognize and acknowledge women who are making a difference in their communities, across the country. The ‘#100Women Initiative’ involves a contest to select 100 women achievers of India through public nominations via social media.

Speaking about the initiative, the Union Minister for Women and child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi said, “We have all had women in our lives who’ve made a difference, who have changed the course of our own lives, who’ve left a mark on the entire community and changed it for the better. We don’t thank them enough. Here is your chance to honor the women who’ve made a difference to your community. Log on to the Facebook Page of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, share a video with us on why the woman you choose should be honored as India’s 100 most impactful Women.

President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, WCD Minister Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Special Invitees and Jury of #100Women Achievers Contest of Women and Child Development Ministry in collaboration with Facebook, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. WCD Secretary, Shri V Somasundaran is also seen.

”The #100Women Initiative recognizes women leaders who are making an important difference in communities across India. People were invited to submit nominations on the Ministry’s Facebook page and then vote on the shortlist of finalists. Today, on 22nd Kan 2016,the 100 winners met with the President of India. in the wake of Celebrating Republic day on 26th january 2016

So many extraordinary women leaders were nominated and recognized.

One of them is Dr Kinjal Chandra, from Mulund Mumbai is also known for her PEHEL Pediatric Therapy Centre wherein she treats the AUTISM n LEARNING DISABILITY awareness initiative " NADAAN PARINDEY "

Rest of the women achievders from all ofver India are, Sonali Mukherjee survived an acid attack at 17 and has spent her life fighting for justice. Dr. Nandita Pathak helps women start businesses and escape poverty. Ashima Kaul leads peace building efforts with women in Jammu and Kashmir. We’re proud to help our community shine a light on the stories of these women who are making India and all of our lives better.
