Print Udupi : First time in the history of Udupi district International level day and night ,T10 Hard Tennis Ball Tournament, Udupi Premier League Trophy (UPL) to be held from April 27th for five days at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College grounds at Udupi, said Mohd. Sadiq, one of the organizer.
He said to media persons during press conference at Udupi Press Club on 22nd January, 2016 that during the tournament for the first time around 12 cricket team from gulf countries will participate in the Udupi Premier League Trophy. Apart from that the cricket teams from neighboring states like Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai and other states teams will participate. It is learned that more than 24 famous cricket teams will joined to participate the UPL.
He said that total amount of Rs. 50 lacs of prize money to be utilized for the tournament winners. Rs. 20 lacs prize money along with trophy for the winners, Rs. 10 lacs along with winning trophy for runners up and Rs. 2 lacs will be given to semi finalists.
Along with that car for man of the tournament, Bike for best bower of the tournament, Bike for best batsman of the tournament, man of the match, best fielder and toper of sixes were given prizes individually.
During the press meet Mohd. Niya, Mohd Sahid Hyderabad, Aroor Sukesh Shetty Advocate, Irfan Qadir and others were present.
