Bunts Bahrain: New Executive Committee for the year 2016

Bahrain, March 5, 2016: Bunt’s Community, residing in Kingdom of Bahrain were dreaming for quite few years on establishing an association of their own. Jinraj Shetty with the keen desire to bring all the fellow Bunts together under a single umbrella of their own association discussed on this possibility with Krishna Shetty and Bharath Shetty. This idea was placed before other
prominent bunt members residing in Bahrain for due consideration. Rest was history; On 22nd February 2002 in the honoured presence of Ramanath Rai, the then Karnataka Minister of Ports and Fisheries and Sarvothama Shetty as Chief Guest ‘BUNTS
BAHRAIN’ was born; an exclusive organization for the Bunts Community of Bahrain. As suggested by Sarvothama Shetty, a working committee under the leadership of Rama Shetty as president and other five prominent bunt families namely Jagannath Shetty, Amarnath Rai, Sunil Shetty, Prabhath Shetty, Ashok Shetty and Bharath Shetty as coordinators was established.

Our association, today with more than a decade of experience is home to about 400 bunt families living miles away from their homeland. A significant number of Bahrainis and Indians have been served till date through various means. We continue to preserve and promote our rich cultural heritage among our future generations by celebrating events throughout the year and contributing towards social welfare and well being through charity. Some of our major contributions being financial assistance towards Children Education, Medical treatment, marriage of our bunt girls back in India while our activities being Sri Satyanarayana Puja, moral discourse by Odiyoor Swami Sri Gurudevananda, Yakshagana, Outdoor and indoor Sports tournament, food festival, Entertainment & Cultural events, Picnics and so on…
