Celebration of International Women’s Day and Health awareness program by Brahmavar Women’s Association:

March 6, 2016: Brahmavar Holy Family Church women association celebrated the International women’s day along with women’s health awareness program at the Nirmala English Medium School hall on Sunday March 06.2016.

Function was presided over by Parish priest of the church Fr Antony Vas. Chief Guest for the program was Dr Joylin D Almeida consultant of OBG department Fr. Muller’s Hospital. Vice president of the Parish Mr Raviprakash Gondsalves, Resource person from Fr Muller Charitable institution, Parish council secretary Mrs Josephine Lewis, Unit President Celestine D’ Almieda,Fr Dominic Veigas, were those present on the dais.

Celestine D ‘Almeida president of the association delivered the introductory note and welcomed the entire guest on the Dais, Secretary Jenifer Menezes Presented the annual report of the association.

The association also felicitated the members of the women Grama Panchayat members who have won in the recently held elections

On the presidential note Fr Anthony Vas; Parish Priest of Holy family Church Brahmavar said woman is the strong pillar of the Family, without the help of woman a man cannot handle the family matters very effectively. A Woman’s role in shaping up the family, bringing up the children’s is immense he said.

Dr Joylin D’ Almeida and team from Father Muller’s institution of Medical research was invited to conduct the health awareness program for the women.  Topic was women’s health and diet during pregnancy and menopause. Dr Joylin D’ Almeida and her team delivered the talk on Health and Diet of women during pregnancy, Antenatal care and on menopause. What care should be taken during pregnancy and what are the Myth related to pregnancy regards to birth of a child, what care should be taken post delivery and what are the complications during menopause and its symptoms, Also brought the awareness on the healthy diet. Involvement was evident as the lots of doubts been asked by the audiences during question answer sessions.

Post lunch session entertainment program Dance, Skit, and singing was conducted by the various woman self help group of the church and the program conclude with the theme song of the association. Leena Fernandez Gave Vote of thanks, Mrs Nancy Lewis did the master ceremony.
