In the wake of, Maharashtra plantation drive: 3 crore saplings to be planted on July 1  & Van Mahotsav or Forest Day is an Annual Tree-
Planting Festival from July 1 to 7 across India. Millions of saplings are planted to increase green cover in forested and non-forested areas. World’s No 1 NGO did also not lag behind, as the Lions around Maharashtra, also did Tree plantation,  ranging from Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai.  Even in places like Uran and Alibag did Tree plantation and distribution saplings like Tulsi etc.& Ln Varsha Chaumal . More than 300 members from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane attended the Puja, despite heavy rain in Mumbai.

Lions International Clubs Foundation is in Its 100th Year celebrating centennial year – has main 4 visions: (1) Save Earth, Energy & Environment (2)  the Hunger (3) Sharing the Vision & (4) Education – Engaging the Youth.

Ln Rakesh said, he wants to eradicate blindness thus stressed on Eye Donation also Organ donation IS A MUST.

Following Puja  there will be DRISHTI YATRA WEEK from1st to7th July with Eye checkup camps & medical camps also followed by saplings to be planted in schools and then nurtured by school students.  Arunodaya public school &  Gujana school planted Newly built Traffic  Garden off Ghodbunder Road, around  2500 saplings will be put by different schools.

Nerul resident Ls Ujwala Khobrekar DP,  attended Tree plantation by students in CBD Belapur, 100 saplings to be nurtured by them as a part of their school activities.


In Chembur Trombay Public High Chembur Naka BMC School 100 Trees Sponsored By Saroj Sharma Ln K J Paul 2nd VDG with his Kopri thane team did SIGHT first and Tress Plantation in Thane area and in Ghatkopar area, Ln Maneshwar Nayak with team ,Activity group Co.ordinator Ln.Supriya Kadam,Area Co.ordinator Ln.Rakesh Zangada did Mega Medical camps. Ls Sujatha Rao in Navi Mumbai says Ls Ujwala Khobrakar.
