Doha, Sep 13: Mangalore Cultural Association, Qatar’s ace Konkani organization celebrated its 9th Monthi Fest and traditional Noven Jeevan at the Indian Cultural center Doha at 6.00 pm on Monday September 12.MCA is well known in Qatar for its incomparable organizing skills and the same was noted here yet again.

The program began with the MCA members singing the Associations theme song beautifully led by Qatar’s well known talented melodies singer Jovita Pereira the Cultural Secretary of the association with Wilson and Group. It was then time for prayer when Clara D’souza the Executive committee member invoked blessings on all attended. The blessed new corn was then distributed with roce to all.
The chief guest and the Advisory Member. Felix Lobo were escorted to the stage by President, Arthur Pais and Vice President Aloysius Dsouza for a short stage program. Welcomed with a floral bouquet by MCA president Arthur Pais.

Presient Arthur Pais welcomed the gathering and in his message described the work done by MCA and the upcoming events for this year which included the much awaited Qatar Semi finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore season – 5, the only Konkani singing competition of the Middle East popular among the Konkani speaking Mangalorean’s all over the world. The event will be held at the Regency Halls Qatar and will begin at sharp 5.00 pm on September 30. Same time MCA Seva Puraskar - 2016 will be bestowed on Corrine Rasquinha during the event.

This year MCA revered its member’’s children who have academically excelled in the 8th, 9th and 11th standard exams as an encouragement to them. 10th, 12th and Bachelor’s degree Graduation examinations by obtaining over 75% overall marks for the academic year 2015-2016, A token of appreciation will also be given to the MCA Member’s children who have excelled in Grade 8th, 9th and 11th by securing over 75% overall marks were also appreciated to continue the practice that MCA had initiated in 2012.

Students were honored with their Parents by Advisory Members, Mr. Felix Lobo, President, Arthur Pais and Vice President Aloysius Dsouza. Program was conducted by Sandeep Noronha.Felix Lobo in his address mentioned the richness of our Mangalorean culture, Language and traditions which we have received as a boon from our ancestors. He applauded the good work of MCA and blessed the efforts of the association to reach the poorest of the poor.He also Talk about Saint Mother Theresa Patron of Mangalore Cultural Association her simplicity and her help for poor. Mother Teresa’s twenty years in Loreto were filled with profound happiness. Noted for her charity, unselfishness and courage, her capacity for hard work and a natural talent for organization, she lived out her consecration to Jesus, in the midst of her companions, with fidelity and joy.

Christel pinto and Anna Pais amazing voice texture beautifully rendered “TRIBUTE TO MOTHER THERES” a song from Konkan Kogul Wilfy’s composition and commenced the Cultural program of the evening. This was followed by” Thun Ye” song was then sung by Clement Fernandes, after that group dance performed by Susan, Wilma & Group was excellently performed.

Naveen & Sunitha Dsouza sang a duet”Voilya Molbar Chnadr Pole Thiltha”. Group Song “Amche Ghar Ek Mandir Mogachen “A well-known Voice of Qatar Rupert Lobo, Kiethan ,Naveen & Wilma  the song.

Solo dance by jyothi the much applauds of the audience. ‘Suryachim kirna Moga “ song was then sung by a A well-known Voice of Qatar Rupert Lobo and Anjali Andrade. A group song ‘Gulfanth Vavurche Dadle’ by Ullas, Neil, Praveen, Jason & Clement.

The highlight of the evening - a Rib tickling Comedy Drama "Keppeachi Kestavam" written by ’Konkan Kalashri’ Claud D’Souza, Bendur all performed by our own excellent talents like Aloysius Dsouza, Clifford Gomes , Sandeep Noronha, Merlyn Dsouza and Leena Dsouza.
Jovita Pereira the Cultural Secretary the MC for the evening compeered the whole program in an exceptional manner and powerful command over the language. She also organized Spot Games.

Clement Saldanha proposed vote of thanks.The overall talents presented that evening were much appreciated by all who attended.

The program concluded with ‘Noven Jevan’ a delicious vegetarian meal prepared by the MCA committee members under the able leadership of Mrs. Stephany Lobo well known figure among the Konkani Community in Doha Qatar known for her excellent cooking skills.
The crowd was more than 250 in numbers.

MCA thanks everyone who attended and made the evening a memorable one for all participants of the evening.
