Udupi : Government First Grade College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies, Thenkanidiyur, Udupi and Mangalore University jointly organize Mangalore University level Inter Collegiate 36^th Athletic Meet – 2016 and Differently Abled Children’s Sport Meet to held from 6^th October, 2016 to 8^th October 2016 at Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium, Ajjarkad, Udupi.

In his address with media persons at Udupi Press Club, Sri. Balakrishna Hegde Principal of the Tenkanidiyoor College , said that the Sports meet to be inaugurate on 7^th October, 2016 by Pramod Madhwarah Minister of Sports, Youth Services and Fisheries and District in charge minister of Udupi at 10 a.m.

Prof. Byrappa Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University will preside over the inaugural function. Shobha Karandlaje, MP Udupi-Chickmaglur, Shri Janardhan Thonse member of Zilla Panchayat are chief guests. Dr. Mohan Alva President of Alva’s Educational Foundation, Moodbidre, Yashpal Suvarna President, D. K. and Udupi Dist. Fish Marketing Federation, Kishora Alva Executive Director of Udupi Power Corporation Ltd, Uday Shetty Muniyal Proprietor, Deviprasad Construction, Muniyal, Girish Shetty Tellar Entrepreneur Mumbai, Jerry Vincent Dias Proprietor of Mandavi Developers, Udupi and Sri Jeevan Shetty Baikady Class I PWD Contractor, Brahamavara will be guests of honour.

The valedictory ceremony to be held on 8^th October, 2016 at 4 p.m. which again Pramod Madhwaraj will be preside over the function. Dinakar Babu President of Zilla Panchayat Udupi, Jayakumar Belkale President of Thenkanidiyur Grama Panchayat, Prof K. M. Lokesh Registrar, Mangalore University will be the chief guests. Balakrisha Hegde MD, AM Sons Tiles and Bricks, Kokkarne, Prakyath Shetty Entrepreneur Thenkanidiyur, Udupi and Dayananda Shetty Kojakoli Treasurer, College Development Committee of Thenkanidiyur will be guests of honour to present.

He said that more than 1000 sportsmen and 250 differently abled children, 150 judges and referees and more than 100 volunteers will participated during the event. On the occasion Olympians who participated recently from national level and other awarded sportsmen are to participate.

He further said that not only for the first three winners will get the awards but also up to 6^th place winners are get appreciation letter with certificates and prizes. The expenses for the tournament will be made available by the Mangalore University and Sports Ministry of Karnataka.

Sports Organizing Committee Vice President Janardhan Thonse, Treasurer Dayananda Shetty, Dr. Duggappa Kajekar, Ramchandra Patkar and other among were present during the press meet at Udupi Press Club.
