Udupi : When Jesus saw her Mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing near, He said to his Mother “Woman, behold your Son”. Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your Mother”. And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home. (St. John 19, 26-27).

On the occasion of preliminary celebration of Diamond Jubilee of Our Lady of Miracles Cathedral, Kallianpur near here began devotion to honor our Mother, Our Lady of Miracles, Patroness of Kallianpur Parish; the devotion we practice in honor of the glorious Our Lady of Miracles statue will visit all the fifteen wards of every home from 16^th October, 2016.

The devotion began with Eucharistic mass at 8 am which concelebrated by Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Cathedral along with Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha and Rev Fr. Prakash Anil Castelino Assistant parish priests. The mass liturgy conducted by gurkars’ of the parish. Rev Fr. Prakash Anil Castalino in his beautiful homily pointed out the need to increase our devotion to Our Lady of Miracles for our salvation through Jesus Christ.

Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo after his usual weekly announcements blessed the 15 statues of Our Lady of Miracles. He said that do not fear to take Our Mother Milar saibin to home. Like St. Joseph in Nazareth and St John at the foot of the Cross, they welcome the Mother of God into their houses and their daily leaves, so that She can help them to sanctify all areas of their existence, under guidance of Holy Spirit.

Vicar of the church Fr. Stany B. Lobo handed over the Statue of Our Lady of Miracles to all the 15 gurkars’ of the parish with prayer leaflets which assistant parish priests and Walter Cyril Pinto Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council were present.

The faithful were taken the Statue of Our Lady of Miracles led by each gurkars along with faithful of the ward separately to their respective wards. Those faithful who near to the Church were taken the Statue of Our Lady of Miracles with procession and singing the hymns of Mother Mary by the devotees.

Meanwhile the Mission Sunday also observed at the Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur with devotion. Like other usual festivals the large devotees present during the mass and devotional blessing ceremony of the Statues of Mother Miralces. Our Lady of Miracles depended and guided the parishioners since 338 years with the help of Holy Spirit and the devotion remains for ever in Kallianpur.
