Mangaluru, Nov 19: In a press release, Mandd Sobhann has announced the top-3 nominees of the 8th Global Konkani Music Awards. The nominees have been selected by the first panel of judges from among 122 applications.

The nominees are:

I. Best Singer (Female):

* Shilpa Cutinha (Mangaluru) : Song – ’Dollyank Kazall’; Album – Tem Yenvchya Vella.
* Padmini D Nayak (Mangaluru) : Song – ’Bhagiyantu Fool Fultana’; Album – Bhas Konkani Rag Tarangini.
* Joshal Sweeda D’Souza (Dubai) : Song – ’Tum Yetay Mho’nnun’; Album – Hero-Only Yours.

II. Best Singer (Male):

* Robin J P Sequeira (Dubai) : Song – ’Moga Tuji Yad’; Album – Moga Savlli.
* Lawry Travasso (Goa) : Song – ’Padri Ani Igo’rjyo’; Album – Saibinn Amchi Maim.
* K Nithin (Cochin) : Song – ’Tem Yenvchya Vella’; Album – Tem Yenvchya Vella.

III. Best Lyricist:

* Wilson Sequeira (Kateel) : Song – ’Tem Yenvchya Vella’; Album – Tem Yenvchya Vella.
* Pobre Fernandes (Goa): Song – ’Mamageli Bo’ylam-Gaddi’; Album – Mannkam Ani Motiam
* Lloyd Austin Rego (Taccode) : Song – ’Yore Yore Pavsa’; Album – Moga Savlli.

IV. Best Music Arranger:

* Tagore Das (Mangaluru) : Song – ’Mukta Tuka Mho’nnu Ko’so’ ; Album – Bhas Konkani Rag Tarangini.
* Stephen Frank (Beltangady) : Song – ’Az Punni’; Album – E’k Geet.
* Roshan D’souza (Angelore) : Song – ’Dollyank Kazall’; Album – Tem Yenvchya Vella.

V. Best Music Composer:

* Tagore Das (Mangaluru) : Song – ’Mukta Tuka Mho’nnu Ko’so’; Album – Bhas Konkani Rag Tarangini.
* Roshan D’Souza (Angelore) : Song – ’Moga Tuji Yad’; Album – Moga Savlli.
* Kevin Misquith (Surathkal) & Stephen Frank (Belthangady): Song – ’Az Punni’; Album – E’k Geet.

VI. Best Music Album:

* Hero – Only Yours : Producer – Roshan Donald Correa, Dubai.
* Moga Savlli: Producer – Dilraj Rodrigues, Mangaluru.
* Tem Yenvchya Vella : Producer – Ajith Peter D’Souza, Dubai.

The second panel of three judges will select the winners.

All nominees will be honoured and winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on Sunday December 11 at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, at 6 pm.

Each award includes Rs 25,000 cash prize, the coveted title and a trophy.

Multi-platinum recording artiste and playback singer Kavita Krishnamurthy will be the chief guest.
Goa’s pride Sidhanath Buyao will perform. Nach Sobhann troupe will also perform scintillating dances and there will also be songs by ’Sumell’, the Konkani Singing Club of Mandd Sobhann.

The ceremony will be compered by award-winning playwright Arun Raj Rodrigues and eminent MC and fashion designer Hera Pinto.
