Farewell Function of Retiring Principal of Milagres College Rev Fr. Fredrick Mascarenhas
Kallianpur : Farewell function of retiring Principal of Milagres College V.Rev Fr. Fredrick Mascarenhas was held at Milagres Tri-centenary Hall here on Tuesday, 30th August, 2011 in the afternoon.
Retiring Principal was honored and felicitated with shawl, garland, fruits, momento etc., by V. Rev Monsr. Denis Moras Prabhu and V. Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo.
Prior to felicitation, V. Rev. Monsr. Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese and Vice President of Catholic Board of Education, Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Correspondent of Milagres Institutions, Prof. Hilda Rodrigues Principal In charge, Directors of Students Welfare Council Dr. Nery Cornelio and Prof Shalet Mathais, Shri. Chandrashekar Hegde Vice President of Alumni Association and officials of SWC were present on the dais. V. Rev Fr. Baptist Menezes Episcopal Vicar of Udupi District, Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca Ex Principal of Milagres College, Rev Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Rev Fr. Wilson D’Souza, Rev Fr. Anil Prakash D’Silva, Retired Professors and Retired non teaching staff, parish parished members, well wishers, Ozanum sisters and large number of students were participated the touching function of farewell.
After the prayer song, Students Welfare Council President Kum. Leena D’Souza welcomed the guests and gatherings. Fans of Fr. Freddy eager to say something good for the retiring Principal, but few personalities were allowed to spoke regarding Fr. Freddy. They were Aimen of III Bcom and Vasudha of III Bsc., from students side, Ms. Reena Fernandes Dept. of Mathematics from PU staff side, Prof N.M. Hegde Dept of Kannada from College staff side and Xavier Fernandes from Administrative staff side. One of the Alumni Association members Smt. Sushila Rai beautifully spoke in regarding appreciation for Fr. Freddy.
Number of personalities and welwishers offered flowers, garlands to Fr. Freddy among them were all class representatives of SWC., Principal of PU College, Ex Principal of PUCollege Prof Sadashiva Alse, Principal in charge Prof Hilda Rodrigues, Heads of all departments from college and PU College, Heads of Administrative staff, Vice President of Alumni Association and Alumni Association members, PTA officials and members, retiring staff of the college and many more.
Prior to felicitation ceremony, Prof Archana Dabade Secretary of staff council placed letter of appreciation and honour to retiring Principal of the college.
Rev Fr. Fredrick Mascaranhas spoke regarding the words of gratitude and thanks to those who helped throughout his teaching life. He gave thanks to earlier Bishop and present Bishop and moreover to his family for their successful support. He also gave thanks to former Correspondents, ex teaching and non teaching staff and to all who supported him during his career.
The Correspondent of Milagres Institutions Rev.Fr. Stany B. Lobo thankful to Fr. Freddy for his commandable success as a Principal. On behalf of management he thanked the Principal. Rev Fr. Baptist Menezes also spoke during the occasion and lauded Fr. Freddy’s achievement and success.
During presiding address by V. Rev Mosgr. Denis Moras Prabhu said that Fr. Freddy walked his steps with the teachings of Jesus Christ.He also conveyed Bishop’s message to Fr. Freddy in the absence of him who away to Rome. He offered God’s blessings to Fr. Freddy during his address and thanked him.
Joseph Kiran D’Souza secretary of SWC was proposed vote of thanks and Amratha compered the programme wonderfully. The farewell function ended with National Anthem.
