Grand Event Marks 7th Anniversary of Udenthichim Neketram Moodbidri Varado  Dubai

Dubai: 7th annual day of Udenthichim Neketram’, Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association (MVCA), which consists of 13 parishes of Moodbidri Varado, was held at Emirates English Speaking school Al Safa on Friday 17th February 2012.

Event kicked off with a prayer dance which was beautifully performed by Feat Beat Group. Ullas Fernandes, the president of MVCA welcomed the gathering and the chief guests. Further, he thanked all the sponsors, well wishers and most importantly all the association members for their support. Walter Nandalike, editor in chief of and popular singer, Lawrence Saldana inaugurated the event followed by lighting the candles by the representatives from 13 parishes of the association.

“MVCA has introduced tremendous talent to the Konkani language. We have seen many actors, writers, directors, poets. This has been the specialty of MVCA. They constantly try to keep Konkani culture alive by given opportunities to its best extent” Walter Nnadalike, chief guest of the event, quoted during his inauguration speech. Sponsors were felicitated during the event by the unique momento presented by association President Ullas Fernandes.

As it was announced earlier, association offered bundle of entertainments in the form of Comedy skits, dances, and magic show was thoroughly enjoyed by the gathering. There were several spot prizes along with bumper prize draw. “Feat-Beat” & “Show stoppers” dance troupes performed some remarkable dance numbers.

Magician Anthony Mascarenhas, displayed some exciting magic which kept crowd on their toes. Skits were performed by Alwyn pinto and his group throughout the morning session with his unique concepts and style. Lancy Noronha’s “Moga Sagor”, second Konkani music CD was released during the event by Lawrence saldana and James Mendonca, joined by Joseph Mathais, Walter Nandalike, Dayan Dsouza on the dais.

Post lunch session was exclusive for the drama written, directed and acted by Ashuntha Pereira Monteiro. Drama kept the momentum going and kept the crowd guessing as play had a message of “We the people think of something, but Almighty God has his own ways”, was effectively integrated and beautifully delivered by the artists, Melwin Cardoza-Taccode, Richard Saldanha-Sampige, Lawrence Cardoza-Belvai, Joshve Dsouza-Alangar, Helvin D’souza-Kuloor, Praveen Sequeira-Siddakatte and Ashuntha Pereiera Monteiro, the writer, director of the play! and play was applauded by a crowd of more than 400.

Music for the Drama was composed by well known musician Cyril Baptist who is known for composing music for Dramas in Dubai and Mangalore in assistance with Rakesh. Title song sang by Rony Byndoor & James. Event was compered by Melwin Vas, Siddakatte in a unique way and kept the crowd on their toes throughout the event. Delicious food was provided by Al Shay Resturant, Karama with typical mangalorean cuisine.
