The origin of the Mangalorean Milagres Society was Kallianpur Milagres Club has completed 100 years of its existence which dates back in 1913. In early 20th century, people from christian community of Mangalore diocese came to Mumbai specially from Kallianpur in search of jobs to earn their livelihood. They were poor, undereducated and their living condition was so bad that they had to live without a proper roof over their head and few of them even resided in garages, which compelled them either to take a job as domestic help or to go back to their native place. Looking at such living condition, our forefathers joined hands and planned to have a cheaper and common accommodation for them and their country cousins coming especially from Kallianpur Milagres Parish and its periphery. This helped them take up better jobs rather than working as domestic helps.

The credit goes to "three wise men", Late Peter Pereira, Late Peter D’Souza and late Paul Oliveira, who were instumental in starting this Society and the Kallianpur Milagres Club was born in the year 1913 in Mumbai, dedicated to the Parish Patroness of Kallianpur Church, Our Lady of Miracles. The Club became not only plafce for such people to reside, but also to meet each other and share their joys and worries. Later on, few other illustrious people of imagination with determined will, great vision and selfishessness promoted this Club.

Initially, this Club was housed in a small rented room called "Lood" at Bandra West. As time rolled by, the number of members gres, which compelled that a larger place be found, and the Club moved to a larger place at Bandra West. The then Management also realized that there were more people from other places to share the Club, therefore, it was renamed "Mangalorean Milagres Club" and the same name was retained till its registration in 1959. Its membership was thrown open to all catholics from Mangalore Diocese.

In the year 1913 Kallianpur Milagres Club was borned and in 1958 General Body decided to register the club and also negotiated to buy a peice of land for the club. The Club was registered by name " The Mangalorean Milagres Society" Contract to buy the plot at 81, Hill Road Bandra, was signed and subsequently, the office of the Society  and part of resident members were shifted to the new premises at 81, Hill Road, Bandra on Easter Sunday.

In the year 1974 Diamond Jubilee was celebrated with great sucess and 1979 foundation stone laid for new building called Milagres House which was inaugurated in 1981. In the year 1988 Platinum Jubilee was celebrated. In the year 2009 vertical extension of the building was completed. Meanwhile same year in August plot of land admeasuring about 3acres at Shankerpura Udupi as purchases for establishing a Home for the Aged.
