Manipal: Polytechnic students protest against the present carry over system .

All college students association conducted a protest in front of the DC Office Manipal to convince the government about the problems which students are facing due to the present carry over system all over the state.

Association leaders demanding amendment of the present carry over system for the diploma courses, said that more than 2000 students cannot continue their courses because of the present carry over system in just Udupi district.  According to the present system, students failed in less than 4 subjects can only go to the next semester. In the last academic year the department had changed the system such that students could go to the next semester even if they failed in 10 subjects. But in this academic year the department once changed it to only 4 subjects. Thousands of students will lose one full academic year due to this system.

The students urged the present government to focus on this matter and solve the problem which the students are facing by making necessary changes in the carry over system. Later the students submitted a memorandum to the DC.

Student leaders Jovin Maben, Ajit Karkera, Mohit Bhatt, Sachin Bhandary and Roshan were also present.
