Udupi:09-06-2011; V. Rev. Fr. Fredrick Mascarenhas, hither to the Principal of Milagres College , Kallianpur and chaplain of Ozanam Home for the Aged is the new Parish Priest of Udupi  Parish. He arrived from Kallianpur at 4:30 p.m on Tuesday the 7th June 2011. He was garlanded at the entrance of our Church by outgoing Parish Priest V. Rev. Fr. Mathew Vas.

 

During the solemn ceremony that followed, the representative of the Bishop of Mangalore and Episcopal Vicar of Udupi Dist. administered the oath and installed the new Parish Priest. V. Rev. Fr. Mathew Vas assisted the Episcopal Vicar.

 

Thereafter, the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Parishad Mr. Boniface D’souza welcomed the new Parish Priest on behalf of all Parishioners and briefly explained the history of the Parish and its present position. V. Rev. Fr. Mathew Vas, and V. Rev. Fr. (Dr) Baptist Menezes welcomed the new Parish Priest and wished him all the best in the Udupi Parish. Choir members rendered a melodies welcome song. Fr. Fred sought co-operation of all Parishioners. Fr. Rupesh Madtha Asst. Parish Priest compered the programme.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FAREWELL TO V.REV. FR. MATHEW VAS.

 

 

 

On Sunday June 5th 2011, after 8 a.m Mass, the parishioners bid a farewell to     V. Rev. Fr. Mathew Vas, who is being transferred to Guardian Angel Church, Angelore. The Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Boniface D’Souza read and offered a letter of honour to Fr. Mathew Vas on behalf of the parishioners and wished success in his new assignment.

 

The Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Walter Monteiro offered a bouquet of flowers. Later Rev. Fr. Rupesh Madtha, the new Asst. Parish Priest and also V. Rev. Fr. Baptist Menezes, the Episcopal Vicar of Udupi District both conveyed their wishes to Rev. Fr. Mathew Vas through words and garlands.The Choir sang a farewell song. Then Fr. Mathew Vas expressed his feeling and thanked all for the co-operation.

Rev. Fr. Mathew Vas since past 7 years was well appreciated by the parishioners for his kindness, oracy, administrative ability etc. He had maintained a good rapport not only with the parishioners but also with the Priests in the Deanery (as the Dean) and with the local political and religious leaders as well.
