In the aftermath of 26/11, diplomats from U.S., Australia, New Zealand, U.K. and Canada had decided not to get “sucked into” the Indo-Pak blame game and stop short of blasting India on the huge intelligence failure, disclosures by WikiLeaks show, according to New Zealand media. A confidential cable released by WikiLeaks relating to the Mumbai terror attack relates to the international response to the deadly incident that killed 183 people, including foreigners.

Spain arrests seven over links to Mumbai attacks

MADRID (Reuters) - Seven men have been arrested in Barcelona, accused of providing fake identification documents to al Qaeda-linked groups including the one that carried out the Mumbai attacks in 2008, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday. Six Pakistanis and one Nigerian were arrested on Tuesday and early Wednesday accused of stealing passports and other travel documents from tourists in Barcelona and sending them to Thailand where they were falsified and passed to extremist organised crime groups, it said in a press release.

India denies visa to former Pak President Pervez Musharraf

India on Wednesday denied visa to former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf. Musharraf was invited to attend a seminar hosted by the Young Presidents Organization. The conference was scheduled to be held in Delhi on Saturday. Sources close to Home Ministry revealed that government doubted Musharraf’s real intentions of visiting India. Musharraf’s recent statements defending Kargil operations may also be a behind the denial of visa.

17-yr-old jumps into girlfriends funeral pyre, kills self

SIRSA: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old boy allegedly jumped into the funeral pyre of his girlfriend who had committed suicide after her parents refused to accept their relationship. The incident took place in the Rori village of Sirsa district on Monday. While the girl, Veer Pal Kaur, was a student of Class IX, her boyfriend, Bittu Singh, a native of Malsinghwala village of Punjab, studied in Class XI. The two had been studying in the same school and had been going around for the past couple of years.

30,000 Indian students have left Australia in one year: magazine

A spate of attacks, tough visa norms and denial of permanent residency have caused around 30,000 Indian students, mostly based in Melbourne, to leave Australia in the past year, claims the Federation of Indian Students in Australia (FISA). Iran condemns leaks on Arab calls for attack

Iran’s president said on Monday that leaked American diplomatic memos recounting Arab calls for the U.S. to launch a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities were intended to stir “mischief.” According to the memos released on Sunday by online whistle-blower Wikileaks, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia repeatedly urged the United States to attack Iran to destroy its nuclear programme to stop Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

In a potentially damaging disclosure, the whistle-blower Website released a cable labelled “secret” issued by Ms. Clinton on July 31, 2009, as part of its massive leak of a quarter million classified documents of the American government.
